Established in 1992, Gold Coast Helitours is the area’s largest private helicopter operator
and is owned and operated by well known local businessman Scott Menzies.
The company’s operational headquarters are based at the Marina Mirage Heliport
in the heart of the Gold Coast major business
and tourist area with a state of the art purpose-built helicopter hangar housing four of the company helicopters, fuel supply systems, security monitoring, alarms
and 24 hour on site security patrols.
Located on the eastern side of the Broadwater with its own mooring facilities,
the facility is unique in the region with landing pads for up to four helicopters
at one time and executive offices and lounges making it an ideal base
for airborne operations.
The helicopter landing pads have full night landing capacity
with navigation lights and flood lighting for ultimate convenience and safety.
It’s location provides for a high profile view of helicopter operations,
ensuring a strong visual presence in the Southport broadwater region.
Gold Coast Helitours owns and operates a fleet of modern jet-engine
and piston engine helicopters in a wide range of commercial operations.
The company is a major player in the tourism sector,
providing joy flights and entertainment packages for both domestic and international visitors.
As the company of choice for major Queensland events
such as the Gold Coast 500 Supercars and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show,
it is the only city based commercial helicopter company with the capacity to meet the demands of transporting large numbers of passengers to and from major events
on a non-stop rotating basis.

Gold Coast Helitours owns and operates the fully mobile marine helicopter landing pad, purpose built on a fully approved and surveyed motorised pontoon,
allowing for special operations to be located anywhere within the area’s waterways
at very short notice.
Gold Coast Helitours’ engineering base at Southport (remote from the operations base) is
a large facility providing for preventative and routine maintenance of
all of the company’s fleet by its engineering staff.
